About Us

Hi, I’m Shannon Wright, a clinical nutrition graduate student at the University of Bridgeport, on track to graduate with my Master’s in Clinical Nutrition in December 2026. I am also a clinically supervised intern working toward my Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) credential.

My work is rooted in a deep respect for both the science of human physiology and the wisdom of intentional, conscious healing. In addition to my academic training, I hold a 200-hour yoga certification, which has shaped my understanding of the mind-body connection, breathwork, and the importance of presence in the healing process. I believe that health extends far beyond the absence of symptoms; it’s a dynamic alignment of physiology, mindset, environment, and lived experience.

Outside of my studies and practice, I feel most at home in nature. You’ll often find me mountain biking, trail running, or exploring the outdoors with my dog, Harvey. Nature continues to inspire my approach to wellness: simple, grounded, and deeply connected.

My Journey

My journey into health and healing began early in life. I watched my mother develop diabetes at a young age, which sparked a deep curiosity about how diet, lifestyle, and daily choices shape long-term health. From that point on, I began to question conventional narratives around disease and became increasingly drawn to prevention and root-cause healing.

As I grew older, this interest became personal. I navigated my own complex health challenges, including disordered eating, PCOS, hormonal imbalances, IBS, insomnia, and chronic anxiety. Despite seeking support through conventional medical care, I often felt my symptoms were being managed rather than truly understood. When those approaches failed to provide lasting relief, I turned to functional and integrative modalities—an experience that not only transformed my health, but also reshaped my understanding of the body.

Through functional nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and nervous system regulation, I began to reconnect with my body instead of working against it. I learned that healing is not rooted in control or restriction, but in listening, nourishing, and creating an internal environment where the body feels safe enough to restore itself.

I’ve always felt a strong connection to nature and believe it plays a vital role in our well-being. Time outdoors, intentional movement, breathwork, and presence became foundational in my own healing process. This reconnection deepened my trust in the body’s innate intelligence and its remarkable capacity for restoration when given the right support.

What continues to inspire me is the intersection of evidence-based science and conscious healing practices. I’m fascinated by how biochemistry, nutrition, mindset, and meditation interact—how our beliefs, nervous system state, and daily habits influence cellular health and guide us toward wholeness. When we align intention with action, and science with awareness, the body remembers how to heal.

Today, my work is rooted in both lived experience and clinical training. I’m passionate about helping others navigate their own healing journeys with compassion, clarity, and sustainable support—bridging modern science with the wisdom of the body and the healing power of conscious connection.
